KCSTITCHES: NIGERIANS LOVE BESPOKE FASHION.

Fashion has always been an integral part of the Nigerian experience. Nigerians have always had a deep love for clothes and the way they are worn. The fashion industry in Nigeria has evolved from a long way and it has been a beautiful journey. The 70s was a time of truly funky fashion.(https://www.greyvelvetstores.com/a-brief-history-of-nigerian-fashion/)

And like it is popularly said “dress like you want to be addressed”.

No wonder, the number of tailors have quadrupled in recent times however, in Nigeria we have more of tailors and less of fashion designers.

But in KCSTITCHES you find a fashion designer and a tailor all in one. Now, what is the difference you will say right?

Both the fashion designer and the tailor use same tools and the end product is the apparel/ dress/ garment. However there is huge difference in how they work.

@kcstitches

The tailors directly take measurement of the client and stitch the clothes according to the design given by the client. The Fashion Designer on the other hand is the creator of a new design.

The Designer takes inspiration from different themes and draws new ideas. Most of us have seen how the Tailor works, but not many are aware how a fashion designer works, does lot of planning and follows specific process to make the final garment.(http://wardrobetrendsfashion.com/difference-between-tailor-and-fashion-designer/)
